one cup of tea

One cup of tea
At the dining table, the son is reading a newspaper and dad is sitting besides him. The son is going through the headlines and also looking at the stock rates. He is silently sipping his tea without even giving a look at his dad. His dad is sitting and thinking of the days when he use to work and his son was just a small kid sitting there to get one glance from his dad. There were tears in his eyes. He however wanted to correct this so he just asked his son “son, how are you feeling today.” The son just replied “hmmmmmm”. He then just folded the newspaper and took his briefcase and left for office. The next day the father repeated the same question and the son replied in the same manner. This same routine carried on for a few days. One day the suddenly the son got a call at his work place informing him that his dad is seriously ill and wants to speak to him soon. He rushed to the hospital. The father said “son, I am very sorry. I was so busy in earning money and fending for the family that I never asked you about how you were feeling. I never asked you about your dreams. I just wanted to get you all the luxuries in life. I wanted you to be happy. But in my run for all this I never looked back to see you smiling. Son staying in the same house I missed you a lot since a long time. Please, my dear son, give me hug. I need you the most my son.” The son just fell down to his knees in tears. He was so much into pain seeing his father like this that he just could not bear what he did to his father. He was crying a lot. He just stood up hugged his dad and said “dad, just hold my finger and walk me home please I also need you a lot. I am sorry dad I never said but you are the best dad ever. I know all the efforts you took for me and I appreciate them the most. But, dad as you did those efforts for me I also wanted to give you all the luxuries in life. Even I wanted you to stay in comfort. Dad, I never realized when I became so passive that I never ever talked to you about how you are feeling. Come dad lets go home.” The next morning the son, went to his dad’s room woke him up sat with him and his one cup of tea with him they chit chatted laughed like before and he also brought his son to his grandfather. He had now promised himself whatever happened between him and his dad he won’t let happen among him and his son. We are so busy earning money and comfort for our loved ones that sometimes we just tend to forget their existence. We so have issues with our loved ones no doubt about it, but then not talking to them or just being busy with our work will never help. Though we all are angry with our parents or kids at some moment in life but it’s only them that we love the most. Our parents understood us when we could not even talk. They could read our eyes then. So we should not forget that once we learn to speak we have to understand them without words. We have to read their eyes. Children do love their parents, but parents should know that the world is full of trial and error no child is similar to the other they have their own talents and abilities and own ways of expressing love. Anger, strangely is another form of expressing love. It is said we fight the most with the person whom we love the most. Love you ma and pa was just not able to express it before. Dedicated to all the families of the world. Lets all have that one cup of tea with our parents and children and talk to them chit chat with them laugh out loud with them.
